We had a huge ice storm similar to what you guys are going through, in my home town, back in the late 90s. NO FUN AT ALL. I hope you guys melt soon and are back to warm weather again soon.
I love to scrap ice! I like to shovel snow. Apparently we should switch locations this winter. It's a high of 40 I think here today or something INSANELY warm. Blech. I need me some winter. You need your Austin weather back...so I say switch-a-roo.
wow - you would've thought the world was coming to an end. a little bit of ice, would hate to see you people live up north. i have spent 4 years in indiana as well as several years in north carolina and this past week was nothing.

Yep. Took me 30 minutes to get the ice off of my truck. Can't wait for Thursday and the 37 degrees. Everything might melt.
hey....it was extra cardio:)
til i sliced my freaking hand..oh well
Gee I never thought of you all down there getting ICE!!! We haven't even gotten that yet..and we're in the snow belt!!
What you do is boil some water and then pour it over your windshield to melt the ice.
Just kidding. Don't do that. My neighbor did and is going to have to shell out some bucks for a new windshield.
And don't do like another buddy and scrape the ice off with a wood chisel.
Austinites, during a winter ice storm, are worth the price of admission!
I pour cold water on metal surfaces but avoided glass...then i got my plastic scraper and went to work with the car on defrost.
but i watched others pour hot water on the glass....snap crackle pop
yikes! hope it wasn't too bad, and that your hand is okay!

It's still cold here, but no snow or ice. I park in a garage anyway, I don't remember the last time I actually had to scrape off my car.
That reminds me, I need to get the remote start installed in THE WIFE's new car, so she can warm it up from the comfort of the apartment.
